An autistic woman has completed enough courses on LinkedIn to become possibly the most neurotypical person alive.
Deborah Whitehead, 34, takes LinkedIn courses whenever she needs to look busy at work, but believes she may have “girlbossed too close to the sun” and now knows how to convert leads, become a thought leader and demonstrate leadership – as well as having a vague yet confident explanation for what all of those things mean.
Whitehead said: “One day I was doing the end-of-module quiz on ‘Body Language for Sales Professionals’ and the next I was on a diversity training course, virtue signalling via anecdotes about my ‘lovely autistic neighbour who has autism’.”
“I tried retaking the AQ to check and the results just came back with ‘Is this a joke to you?’”
Whitehead’s boss, Kit McGodden, 38, said: “Debbie’s gone from strength to strength recently. She’s now become much more like my other employees, which means I no longer need to hollowly offer my ongoing support for her needs.”
