A groundbreaking new documentary reportedly seeks to question the conventional narrative around the mysterious and unknowable orb at the centre of our galaxy.
The Great Sun Myth, from the producers of Not Quite Walls, Not Quite Gaps: What are Doors? and Trees: What’s Their Game?, will hear from the growing number of professional opinion-havers who are boldly questioning mainstream “science” and “facts”.
Amid claims that the Sun sustains life on Earth, despite the fact that it vanishes with staggering regularity, the series asks: Where does the Sun really go every night? How is it apparently massive but looks smaller than your hand? And is there any truth in one of humanity’s greatest fears: that it keeps getting eaten by a dragon?
Gut-vitamin salesman and occasional documentary-maker Ethan Stern, 42, explained the reasoning behind his work. “Listen, I’m right to be concerned. The last thing that went away every evening was my ex-wife, and she was having an affair with her karate instructor. Is the sun going to want custody of my kids too?”
Professional fearmonger Karen Hoyland, 57, says that her concerns go deeper. “According to ChatGPT, there has been a dramatic and alarming rise over the last 200 years in the number of people who are using lightbulbs. I think we need to put a halt to this until we’ve properly researched the technology.”
“We don’t even know why the sun keeps yoyoing all over the place, so how can we trust these machines which alter reality and pretend that it’s the day when it’s not? They’ll confuse the children! Fire, candles, lamps – what’s next? Dragons?”
Hoyland added: “Until we can figure all this out, I propose a complete halt to anything that looks like sunlight. And, just in case, the Pokémons.”
