An all-new game show launching next month allows young girls who are clearly autistic to win a diagnosis they haven’t done anything to warrant, according to reports.

Fob ‘Em Off! invites children between the ages of six and 12 to spin a wheel, which can land on anything from “anxiety” to “overactive imagination”. There is also a “wildcard” option, which gives a panel of child psychiatrists 30 seconds to spitball about whatever the wackiest diagnosis would be to add to the girls’ medical records.

Television executive Aidan Michaels, 59, commented: “We’ve come up with a unique new offering that parents and kids alike can sit down to on a Saturday evening, have a laugh and hopefully share a little foundational trauma.”

“There is a non-zero chance the wheel lands on autism, but we’ve made it a tiny sliver. For anyone who’s unlucky enough to get it, we’ve got some practical effects rigged up to simulate the Ten Plagues of Egypt in the studio, just to drive home what a terrible outcome that is.”

“Our pilot episode was a roaring success. Little Freya from Manchester managed to win a rare prion disease, which she was delighted about because she researches neurodegenerative conditions for fun.”
