An autistic woman attributes the bulk of her mental wellbeing to the violent video game she knows back to front, it has been reported.

Ima Onwugbenu, 28, has been playing Wild West action-adventure Yeehaw Retribution 3 for longer than some people’s marriages last, but still finds unbridled joy in each playthrough despite having memorised every cutscene, story beat and random event.

Onwugbenu said: “If you set up camp in Rocky Ridge between 11pm and 2am, the camping animation will play normally, but don’t be fooled: if you see a slight shift in camera angle come morning, that means you’re about to be set upon by reclusive, murderous cannibals!”

“If you’re wearing the rare chaps made of rat hide, you’ll get a special interaction with them where they compliment your fashion choices before attempting to garotte you. It’s worth it for the XP, but make sure your Gunslingin’ meter is full so you can one-shot the sorry bastards. Oh, wait, sorry, you were asking about my job?”

“Can we… can we not talk about work? Let’s just say I’m the most feared outlaw at Currys PC World and leave it at that.”

“My family? I’d rather not, if that’s alright with you. Can we go back to talking about the cannibals?”
