A person who just let out a sincere belly laugh at an autistic woman’s joke is reportedly unaware that they will now be forever held in alarmingly high esteem.

Brenda Hernández, 32, who is used to reactions to her jokes ranging from polite bafflement to full-on HR complaint, was unduly delighted when Kit McGodden, 26, actually threw back their head and cackled in response to one of her wisecracks and now believes McGodden to be a magical shiny beacon of light and happiness in the world.

Hernández said: “I don’t even remember what the joke was. Just the feeling of fizzy endorphins bubbling up inside me like sherbet when Kit laughed at it. That will stay with me for life. Partly because I got a tattoo commemorating the date of the laugh.”

“I don’t know Kit very well. I just get the vibe that they’re a wonderful sparkly unicorn person who needs to be protected at all costs. They’re so wise, based on everything I’ve heard them say so far. Like ‘Hahahaha that was really funny’.”

“Do they need a kidney? Because I’ll give them a kidney. I’m serious. I’ll do it right now. I will cut out my own kidney and keep it on ice in case they ever need it.”

McGodden commented: “I don’t know who you’re talking about, but please keep her away from me and my kidneys.”
