A woman who is consistently between nine and 13 years behind the zeitgeist has somehow managed to be way ahead of the autism trend, it has been reported.
Ellie Mulligan, 30 – who has just discovered “this band called Haim” – has been autistic since 1994.
Mulligan said: “I was shocked to learn I’m a trendsetter when it comes to autism. It was unexpected but totally tubular.”
“There I was sorting through my DVD collection when my flatmate said ‘autism’s very trendy now, isn’t it?’” Mulligan continued. “I was in shock. I thought she’d come to borrow my skinny jeans.”
Mulligan is reportedly hopeful that her sudden influencer status will extend to the rest of her interests. “I’ve just discovered this exciting new artist called Taylor Swift,” she said. “Have you heard of her?”
