An autistic woman has announced plans to scare trick-or-treaters away by appointing a severed head carved from a spooky orange vegetable the guardian of her door.

Megan Aldrich, 40, made the decision after last year’s hanging skeleton failed have the desired effect.

Aldrich explained: “I tried telling the kids that relentlessly knocked at my door that it was the real skeleton of a child who disturbed me last year – but they just laughed and asked for more Haribo.”

“This year I’ve gone with a large orange severed head,” Aldrich continued. “I’ve used a pumpkin, as I’ve seen other households do that.”

“I’ve carved the face to look as menacing as possible,” she added. “And set the inside on fire, for added terror.”

Aldrich was last seen bedding in for a lovely, undisturbed Halloween night.
