A non-autistic woman who doesn’t want your autism to define who you are has listed her own defining trait as drinking a hot beverage consumed by pretty much everyone, sources have revealed.
Karen Hoyland, 44, whose Insta bio reads “good vibes only, drinker of tea” has called on autistic people everywhere to be more than just their entire neurology.
Hoyland said: “People will think there’s nothing else to you. Milk and two sugars, please.”
She continued: “Have you tried this thing called ‘tea’? It’s great. You should.”
Hoyland’s autistic niece, Becky Armitage, 19, commented: “Maybe it’s a clever metaphor? Like, she’s here for the tea? As in gossip?”
Hoyland responded: “Nope I just really like tea.”
