A Halloween partygoer has been criticised for “taking their costume too far” after arriving at a gathering of autistic friends dressed as the ultimate sensory nightmare.
Kit McGodden, 30, created their Wet Sleeves costume by wrapping their whole body in a blanket and then standing in the shower, turning themselves into one giant wet sleeve in a bid to scare the bejesus out of their mates.
Friend Noriko Hamazaki, 31, commented: “What I don’t understand about this costume, aside from the obvious question of how Kit could subject us to this horror, is that surely full-body wet sleeves have got to be utterly horrible to wear. When I have wet sleeves just on my wrists, I can’t help but start yelling and stripping off, which didn’t go down well at my niece’s Christening.”
“This is actually weirdly fine,” responded McGodden, dripping in a sinister fashion. “Of course it could just be that I’ve completely dissociated and am numb to all physical sensation. That does often happen at social gatherings.”
“Next year, I’m going to dress up as the one mushy blueberry you weren’t expecting to bite into.”
