In what officials are describing as a million-to-one event, an AuDHD man has opened a videogame case and found the game he was actually looking for, instead of that heralding the beginning of an hour-long side quest.

Mac Wheatley, 31, has become accustomed to none of his games or films being in the right cases, on account of his propensity to take whatever disc is in his PlayStation and put it into the case of whatever game he wants to play, which inevitably leads to an extended Towers of Hanoi situation when he wants to find some media from earlier along that chain.

Wheatley commented: “I wanted to play Clair Obscur, and had previously been watching RoboCop, so I was fully expecting to take the RoboCop disc out of my PS5 and then find some random game in that case, and spend the next hour swapping out the various cuckoo disks that had been squatting in the wrong boxes, because of the last time I took a disc out and thought ‘That’ll do’, instead of finding the right box!”

Dr. Talia Cohen, of the Institute For How Do You People Live Like This, explained: “This does happen now and again. We’re still not sure what causes the phenomenon, but sometimes, very rarely, an AuDHD person will put their things away properly. Like that time in Kent in 2013, where an autistic woman looked down in surprise to see that she was wearing matching socks.”

At the time of publication, Wheatley had been so struck by his own prior planning that he had opened up every single one of his games, DVDs and BluRays, to bask in how neatly ordered and correctly boxed everything was. By the time he was finished, it was 2.30am, and he went to bed without booting up his console to play the game.
