An autistic person with an intense aversion to human touch nonetheless wishes to be touching one specific human at all times, it has been claimed.
Kit McGodden, 39, has spent their life ducking and weaving to avoid hugs at social gatherings. They once feigned uncontrollable diarrhoea to avoid having to give their auntie a peck on the cheek at Christmas.
However, when asked about partner Ben Espenson, 48, they said, “Ideally, I would never not be kissing him. I’d just follow him around while he’s brushing his teeth or busy at work, planting little smooches on whatever body part I can access.”
“I like to sit directly on top of him, but he says it makes his thighs go numb after a while… I just want as much of my skin to be pressed directly against as much of his skin as is feasible at any given time, you know?”
Our reporter did not know. It was not possible to complete the interview as McGodden left abruptly, complaining that the reporter was standing too close.
