An autistic woman’s mother is planning another birthday present reflecting her daughter’s special interest back at her completely incorrectly, it has been rumoured.
Tricia Squire, 65, really is trying, bless her, but hasn’t really understood what it is her daughter likes about witchcraft and has decided to champion 33-year-old Emma’s “little hobby” by buying her what appears to be a plastic Halloween broomstick for children.
“I mainly dabble in spell jars and manifesting as a form of therapy and self-care. I’m not sure what this is for. I can’t even clean my floors with it,” said Emma Bernard, running the plastic toy along her hardwood floors and wincing at the unbearable scraping sound.
“It doesn’t even fly,” she continued. “I guess I could sit on it and hurl myself out the window.”
Bernard added: “Wow, thanks, Mum, I love it,” before texting her WhatsApp group chat “what the fuck am I supposed to do with this?”
