A workplace diversity initiative aims to support autistic employees by giving them a massive snog, it has been reported.

SMH, who optimise workflow solutions to maximise stakeholder value through data-driven KPIs, announced the new scheme to make autistic colleagues feel appreciated. Once per day, autistic employees can enter an AstroTurfed conference room for a single kiss with the office’s mental health first aider, along with a small amount of pre-agreed hand stuff.

Paula Mulberry, 36, head of HR, said: “We’d been hearing from a lot of our neurodiverse team members that they felt burnt out and confused by working culture. They ask us for all sorts of made-up stuff like hybrid working and flexible hours, but what they really need is to experience the frisson of an illicit office romance.”

“We’re hoping that daily kisses will help employees with autism thrive under the open-plan layout, fluorescent lighting, and complete lack of boundaries we’re so proud of.”

The initiative is already effecting positive change; neurotypical colleagues report feeling much better about themselves.
