An autistic woman who claims she has entered her badass, no-nonsense “villain era” actually bursts into tears at the first indication someone is less than pleased with her, according to sources.
Chi-Young Lee, 29, swore to her friends that she was going to stop caring what other people thought of her, speak up for herself unapologetically and “decentre men”, whatever that means. However, the slightest suggestion that someone may be upset with her makes Lee feel like the worst person on earth.
Lee said: “I thought I’d nailed the whole villain thing. I’m wearing a trouser suit and everything – but I’m still fundamentally the same person I’ve always been. All it took was for my dad to tell me I was a naughty child, and suddenly I was begging for him to forgive me for the shitty things I did when I was four years old.”
“I was hyperventilating for an hour while Dad tried to reassure me,” she continued. “He said he was just making an offhand comment, but why would he bring it up if it wasn’t still destroying him inside 25 years later?”
“I was trying to defy societal expectations of how women should behave, but I hurt a man’s feelings a quarter of a century ago and now I feel like I should abandon the whole project.”
