An autistic woman who likes to think of herself as “quite zen” regularly sits like a praying mantis, according to sources.
Beth Hapworth, 26, from Crosby, is reportedly incapable of putting her feet on the floor or her arms by her sides at any given time – instead preferring to perch like an insect.
Despite her yoga teacher advising that it might be beneficial for her health to relax her posture once in a while, Hapworth determinedly remains in position, ready to fend off predators.
Yoga instructor Kelsey Dacey, 32, said: “It’s hard to believe Beth when she insists she’s in a calm mental space. It doesn’t help that her eyes consistently bulge with terror.”
Friend Olivia Buckingham, 28, observed: “Even when she’s supposedly relaxing, she always looks prepared. For what, we’re not entirely sure.”
