An autistic woman has wrecked her own day by convincing herself she’s a covert narcissist, according to reports.
Beth Hapworth, 35, Googled the term after someone suggested it applied to her ex, but quickly found herself spiralling into a pit of hyperbole and self-loathing.
She said: “I always got the sense I was special. I thought that was just me noticing I was different and not realising I was autistic until adulthood, but maybe it’s a grandiosity so covert I don’t even know about it?”
“Narcissist need admiration. I’m an artist. Is selling my art a sign of narcissism? I’d better discount it.”
She added: “I’m so sorry, I’ve been talking about myself for like, 30 seconds, like a proper narcissist. How are YOU?”
