An AuDHD woman with an increasingly large collection of yarn, needles, and stitch markers is only vaguely aware of the concept of “knitting”, it has been reported.

Pippa Durham, 33, has been gathering a variety of expensive and rare wools and other knitting-related paraphernalia for the last two years, in spite of only barely knowing which end of a knitting needle is which.

“It all started when I found a book called ‘52 Weeks of Socks’ in a charity shop”, the conspicuously bare-footed Durham said.

“It looked so cute! All these patterns and designs! And here I am, 104 weeks later, with 48 balls of angora, 20 balls of vicuna, 60 balls of wool/silk mix, and an antique drop spindle for turning raw fibres into my very own wool!”

When asked whether any actual socks had materialised in this time, Durham looked confused, before slowly clicking “confirm payment” on the checkout page of a website called Wool I Never.
