An autistic woman has been labelled a “trendsetter” after demonstrating how to seamlessly switch from a cold-weather runny nose to a hot-weather runny nose, it has been reported.

Mary Walker, 43, believes that perpetually-drippy noses are a timeless classic, best paired with a nasty crumpled-up tissue all year round. She says they can be dressed up or down, or even allowed to run unchecked as an eye-catching facial accessory.

She said: “A lot of people don’t know how to get their autumn/winter runny nose ready for the spring/summer season. I say don’t overcomplicate it. There are so many reasons your nose can run – find an allergy, upper respiratory infection or mysterious bodily quirk that suits you, and own it, diva.”

“In the chillier months, even the transition from outside cold to air-conditioned warmth can give you that edgy little trickle if your body is as bewildered by temperature shifts as mine is. Likewise, getting a cold in summer is a great way to stand out, and so easy for those of us with bullshit immune systems.”

“God I’m dehydrated.”
