An autistic woman has accidentally started a conversation she doesn’t have the spoons to continue, loved ones have claimed.

Brenda Hernández, 34, reportedly made a passing comment to her mother, Lucia Ruiz, 58, about wishing she could install air con in her rented property, prompting a barrage of questions and concerns that Hernández admits she really should have seen coming.

Ruiz commented: “Well, have you asked your landlord? Is there room on an outside wall for the compressor? Would you have to pay for it yourself? What happens when you move out? Do you get to take it with you? Air con is expensive, you know.”

“Have you even thought about your increased electricity bills?” Ruiz continued. “Can you afford it? You know, you’d be able to afford it if you stopped constantly shopping on Vinted. In fact, you wouldn’t still be renting at all. Why don’t you save up for a deposit and buy a nice place near your dad and me?”

“I just checked and the house next door is going up for sale. And there’s a big outside wall for your air con compressor. I’ve just Googled and found a local guy whose units are very energy efficient.”

Hernández could not be reached for comment following the call with her mother, as the conversation had not been energy efficient.
