An autistic man is baffled over his girlfriend’s inexplicable and abrupt change in mood after he answered honestly when asked what he was thinking, witnesses have claimed.
Dexter Livingstone, 30, was in bed with girlfriend, Kelsey Dacey, 26, when she asked “what are you thinking?” Livingstone answered, honestly: “I was thinking about the United 173 aviation disaster,” aviation safety being a special interest of Livingstone’s.
Livingstone was then confused when Dacey rolled over on her side and went very quiet. “I can only assume she was left unsatisfied by the lack of detail provided over such an interesting piece of aviation history,” he said. “So I continued, telling her why it was one of the most important accidents in driving the adoption of crew resource management.”
“Basically, you had a completely airworthy DC-8, which ran out of fuel and crashed purely because the flight engineer and the first officer were too deferential towards the captain.”
Dacey then sighed heavily and went to make herself a sandwich. Livingstone added: “I assume she’s fuelling up to hear more about it. When she comes back, I’ll tell her all about the parallels between this crash and Eastern 401, where both crews flew the plane into the ground because they were too busy dealing with what should have been a minor glitch.”
At the time of writing, Livingstone is still waiting for Dacey to return to bed.
