An autistic man has demanded a recount after his hyper-specific Halloween costume failed to impress judges at a costume contest.
Lloyd Didcot, 45, was reportedly “shocked and outraged” when not a single judge correctly identified that he was dressed as Paul Tanner, second trombonist in the Glen Miller Orchestra and inventor of the Electro-Theramin.
Didcot explained: “The cretins didn’t even realise I was wearing a costume. They took one look at my shirt and tie and assumed someone’s dad had come straight from work to pick them up.”
“I tried to explain that Tanner was the fourth last surviving member of the classic Glen Miller Orchestra,” he continued. “But they gave the top prize to some numpty dressed as The Terminator.”
He added: “Maybe I should have come as something more obvious – like Tex Beneke.”
