A neurotypical man is being treated for shock after an autistic woman who he told to “smile more” actually did, emergency services have confirmed.

Gavin Monks, 52, told stranger Emma Bernard, 30, that she would be a lot prettier if she turned that frown upside down. According to eyewitnesses, he immediately found out that this was not, in fact, the case.

One anonymous witness said: “Have you ever seen Addams Family Values where the camp counsellors ask Wednesday to smile? Yeah. That.”

Monks was unable to comment due to severe trauma, but was overheard muttering: “I think she took a piece of my soul.”

Bernard said: “I don’t know what his problem is. I could have taken his entire soul. I let him off with a warning.”
