A mother’s favourite pastime is commenting on her adult autistic daughter’s eating habits “out of concern for her wellbeing,” reports have indicated.
Liz Thomas, 54, from Huyton – who was recently heard describing 0% fat soya yogurt as “moreish” – is horrified that her daughter, Paige Thomas, 22, exists on Quorn nuggets.
“I’m just trying to encourage her to have a better diet. And by a better diet, I mean eating exactly the same things I do,” Liz Thomas said.
To demonstrate her “encouragement”, Thomas likes to point out that “the smell of those chips is making me ill” – whilst tucking into a pickled herring salad.
“If she started eating chickpeas, maybe she’d have less mental health problems,” she continued.
“Why does Paige never want to go for lunch together?” She added. “I don’t get it.”
