An AuDHD woman is about to devote all of her passion and enthusiasm to her new job – but only for the next 72 hours, it has been reported.
Talia Cohen, 36, announced on LinkedIn that she was “delighted” to be starting a new role as a business development manager, a sentiment she reportedly “really meant” at the time. But Cohen’s enthusiasm is expected to wane as soon as the novelty wears off and she realises that no job is exciting enough to interest her for more than a few days.
Cohen said: “Every so often, someone comes by my desk to introduce themselves, where we have a variation of the same polite conversation I had with the last person. It’s very slightly different each time, though, so repeating myself hasn’t worn thin quite yet. And maybe it never will.”
“I’m still learning how to use the company software,” she continued. “But once I pick it up I’ll probably have to A-Clockwork-Orange myself into keeping my eyes on the screen. Until then, I can pretend it’s like a video game we all get to play. B2B Sales Simulator. Doesn’t that sound fun? It does right now, at least.”
“I’m sure the professional environment of an office is stimulating enough to sustain me for the four to forty years I’m planning to spend here. I mean, look, they’ve got table tennis downstairs. That’ll… help?”
