An AuDHD woman reportedly has an unnervingly selective memory for all the things you would rather she forgot.
Alma Montague, 49, really was trying to listen while you told her about your day, but the only thing her brain has allowed her to hold onto was the brief yet harrowing glimpse of your childhood trauma that leaked out as you were speaking.
Montague said: “You seemed to physically shrink as soon as you brought up your dad, and that throwaway comment you made about your younger sister being the favourite… you’re a classic parentified eldest daughter, aren’t you? From the way you sighed when your mum texted you, she didn’t make things any easier.”
Montague reportedly cannot recall what your job is, and will ask you to remind her where you live every single time she sees you, but she does remember when you had to request a change of physiotherapist due to the last one being “too sexy, in a Gill from Finding Nemo kinda way” – a comment which you regretted as soon as it left your mouth, but which Montague thinks about every night before she goes to bed.
Montague commented: “You seem uncomfortable. Are you thinking about that fish again?”
