An autistic woman asked by a colleague if she got dressed in the dark absolutely did – but that’s not why she’s wearing that, eyewitnesses have reported.

Beth Hapworth, 44, reportedly arrived at her job as an events coordinator for a small conference centre dressed in a coat that looked like it was made from skinned Powerpuff Girls and matching pink sunglasses, both of which she was wearing on purpose.

Hapworth said: “Becky from Sales asked if I got dressed in the dark. The answer is yes, every single day. But my clothes still rock and you could never have the confidence to carry off an outfit that gives Cookie Monster’s Sexy Aunt.”

“Just to reiterate, I have elected to dress batshit insane.”

“Oh no wait,” Hapworth added, having just passed a mirror. “She’s right. This looks all wrong. Pass my feather boa.”
