A satire website by and for autistic people has launched a new line of merchandise, revealed to be an elaborate scam to enlist fans to unwittingly act as human advertisements and pay for the privilege.

An exposé of The Daily Tism by The Daily Tism uncovered that the brand-new line of wearable goods features in-jokes from the website, like the one about a manic pixie dream girl being a regular autistic woman, above a strategically placed logo designed to make bystanders say: “Ooh, what’s a Daily Tism?”

Co-editor Sara Gibbs, 38, commented: “We’re counting on all of you to have your infodumps at the ready. Autistics – activate!”

Co-editor Sarah Amero, 28, said: “We also strongly encourage customers to layer up, so there’s always a Daily Tism logo on them no matter what the weather’s doing.”

“It’s not for our benefit,” Amero clarified. “We’re trying to gift you with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do your very own RuPaul’s Drag Race reveal.”

Gibbs and Amero were last spotted rubbing their hands together and chuckling menacingly like devious oil tycoons in a Western.
