An autistic woman emerging from yet another catastrophic job interview has reportedly consoled herself by saying it just wasn’t meant to be – the world of employment, that is.

Emma Bernard, 34, from Widnes, came to the realisation after being rejected from yet another admin position, causing her family to comment “maybe it wasn’t right this time,” for nearly the one thousandth time.

“It just wasn’t meant to happen! Having a stable income and a roof over one’s head is simply a luxury not intended for some of us,” Bernard explained. “What’s meant for you will not pass you by. Which is why I’m stuck in the never-ending cycle of ‘so, tell me about yourself’ and handshake after handshake. Maybe this is my calling?”

“It’s always helpful to be told ‘you’re just not the right fit for us’ by practically every employer in the country,” Bernard continued. “Turns out all this time, I was barking up the wrong tree. All of the trees.”

Sister Olivia Bernard, 36, commented: “I truly believe what’s meant for Emma will come. Not a job, though – let’s be real.”
