An autistic woman with a debilitating fear of leaving her house has managed by cultivating a reputation for herself as a notorious recluse, it has been rumoured.

Sarah Harrow, 37, who only leaves home to go to the GP or take out the recycling, has built her entire brand around being a tortured but beloved artist who occasionally graces the public with rare bin-based sightings.

Harrow commented: “I’ve wanted to be a writer ever since I found out J.D. Salinger used to wave a handgun at anyone who stepped onto his property.”

“I mean, don’t get me wrong, writing is good – but it was also pretty much my only option,” Harrow continued. “You can’t be a famously reclusive dentist.”

Harrow’s mother, Karen Hoyland, 67, commented: “Why don’t we try a little walk round the block, Sarah? The fresh air would do you good!”

Harrow responded: “I’m WRITING! It’s my PROCESS!” She then slammed the door and could not be reached for further comment, obviously.
