An autistic man has been branded “gullible” by his peers for foolishly taking the things other people say at face value, it has been rumoured.

Cameron Brereton, 25, has become known as an easy mark, as he naively believes people he likes and trusts are being honest and straightforward with him.

“Friend” Gavin Monks, 26, explained: “The other day I was running late to meet Cam at the pub. I told him I was five minutes away and – get this – he actually believed me! He even ordered me a pint!”

“He was properly pissed off when I got there two hours later,” Monks continued, laughing. “I was like ‘whose fault is that, mate?’”

Brereton’s brother, Rob Brereton, 29, commented: “When we were kids, I used to prank Cam all the time. Like the time I told him Dad had died and he fully freaked out. It was hilarious!”

Cameron Brereton said: “Everyone I know is a cunt.”
