Despite having an autism diagnosis, a woman has survived a whole lifetime without sexually harassing anybody in the workplace, it has been reported.
Emma Bernard, 33, from Ancoats, finds it difficult to decipher social situations at the best of times – yet has mysteriously managed to last three entire decades without playfully spanking a colleague.
Bernard explained: “I might not know how to offer to make the tea, but I do know not to throw in a casual comment about the size of Tricia’s breasts.”
Bernard continued: “I won’t even shake hands with someone in case the motion reminds them of a hand job and they report me to HR.”
“When you’re an autistic man, understanding social cues can be a nightmare,” Bernard added. “For instance, not knowing whether to shout ‘see you on Monday!’ when leaving the office, or make a frisky pass at somebody’s bottom.”
Bernard’s manager Liz McHodge, 49, commented: “Steve from Finance seems a bit of pervert. Maybe he has autism?”
