A woman with a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder has come worryingly close to being treated like a real human being, according to reports.

Krista Shure, 25, from Bury, was initially given the label by mental health professionals on the clinical basis “she’s a woman we don’t understand, so we’ll just give her that one”.

“We’re starting to think she might just be an actual person with a whole lifetime of trauma,” consultant psychiatrist Graeme Livingstone, 48, revealed. “Though we’re still unsure at this point.”

“She feels everything intensely. She struggles to fit in anywhere. And she behaves really erratically, what with the daily substance abuse and regular meltdowns,” Livingstone continued. “I can’t help but think there’s a piece of the puzzle we just aren’t seeing.”

“Well, my brother’s autistic,” Shure said.

“Female hysteria?” Livingstone suggested. “Could it be that?”
