An autistic couple have reportedly split after realising they have incompatible therapists.
Dexter Livingstone, 35, and Paige Thomas, 32, made the decision to end their one-year relationship as psychotherapists Becky Armitage and Olivia Buckingham couldn’t make things work.
Thomas said: “Dexter and I really did try – but sadly our counsellors had some serious beef.”
Livingstone elaborated: “It all started when I forgot Paige’s birthday. Paige was upset and when I talked about it in therapy, Becky told me to set firmer boundaries with Paige.”
“It was bloody ridiculous,” responded Thomas’ therapist, Olivia Buckingham. “He should have just apologised to her and taken responsibility. What kind of advice was that?”
Livingstone’s counsellor, Becky Armitage commented: “Wait a minute, I didn’t say that! What has Dexter been telling you?”
Livingstone could not be reached for a response as he had been told to set firmer boundaries with us.
