An autistic woman has been left “shocked and upset” that her Extremely Difficult Time has conflicted with her therapist’s yearly holiday to Greece, it has been rumoured.
Despite having answered “fine” when she was asked about her how her week had been in her most recent session, 28-year-old Sarah Harrow suddenly realised she very much wasn’t fine – just as her therapist’s plane took off.
“As soon as her out of office went on, I started to feel my mental health slowly crumbling,” Harrow said. “Just as she landed at the airport, my dog passed away. While she was swanning around Athens, I saw my childhood bully in Lidl and started having flashbacks. As she was tucking into a feta and olive salad, I started frantically calling my ex.”
Harrow added: “Before therapy, I was really reliant on my boyfriend for all my emotional support and reassurance. Now I just rely on Tricia instead.”
“Having a therapist has taught me a lot,” Harrow continued. “Mainly, that my feelings are her responsibility.”
Therapist Tricia Squire, 49, commented: “How the fuck does she know what I did in Greece?”
