A company has won a prestigious award for being completely inaccessible to autistic people.

“I was blown away by the glaring lighting and below average chatter,” said chief executive Gavin Monks, 39, who presented the certificate during a ceremony. “Along with the overly elaborate processes that don’t make sense, it’s a big win for the team.”

“I couldn’t be prouder,” said team lead Liz McHodge, 48. “We were also shortlisted for the Team Mental Illness Achievement category, so it just goes to show that we’re making strides.”

And the employees agree. “I love working here,” declared Paige Thomas, 31, who was lying in bed on sick leave for the third time this year.

The team – what was left of it – celebrated by letting off party poppers and talking politely about very little, really.
