An autistic woman has eaten her last chicken strip without realising it was the last chicken strip, according to sources.

Becky Armitage, 30, was enjoying a meal of chicken strips and chips from her local Chicken Palace when she became distracted by a true crime documentary on TV. When she looked down to pick up the final chicken strip, the box was empty, save for a few oily crumbs which seemed to mock her for her hubris.

Armitage said: “Eating the last chicken strip is an act of ceremony. I need to mark the moment of bringing the meal to an end with one last triumphant sweep through the ketchup I’ve so carefully rationed out.”

“But I let my attention slip for one crucial moment, and now I have this horrible sense of unfinished business. Now I know why people become ghosts.”

Armitage attempted to cheer herself up by continuing to watch the documentary about real people really being murdered.
