An autistic woman currently unwell with a summer cold has spent the day apologising to friends for being a bit quieter than usual, it has been rumoured.
Pippa Durham, 26, considers her closest friendship to be a full-time job, and dutifully let Alma Montague, 28, know that she would not be coming in today.
Durham said: “I’m usually available round the clock but this cold has wiped me out. I have a bunch of sick days saved up but I don’t like to use them.”
“Hopefully I’ll be better tomorrow, or I’ll need to get a doctor’s note,” she continued. “I’m so sorry.”
Alma Montague said: “It’s fine, Pippa – I’m at my actual job.”
