A pair of lifelong friends have recently realised they know almost nothing about each other thanks to their autism and ADHD, it has been reported.
Ben Espenson, 24, who is autistic, and Naveed Azkhat, 25, who has ADHD, harbour a great deal of affection towards each other, but neither of them can name a single reason why.
Espenson said: “Naveed’s a great guy – I think – but I’m still processing the things he told me when we were at school. I know the exact circumference of his head from when we got top hats for the Year 12 talent show, and I know that mint Aeros trigger his IBS, but I don’t have a clue otherwise.”
Azkhat said: “I’ll be honest, I’ve never fully fixated on anything Ben’s said. It’s not his fault – I’m sure it was all really interesting, otherwise we wouldn’t still be friends. It’s just that when people talk for too long, I space out and start thinking about, like, Formula 1 and shit.”
Azkhat recently asked Espenson to be best man at his wedding. Espenson’s speech lasted approximately eight seconds, four of which were taken up by him shuffling his cue cards.
