An AuDHD woman has come to “sorely regret” telling everyone who’d listen about the Barbie Dreamhouse she started building six months ago, it has been rumoured.
Beth Hapworth, 38, who wasn’t allowed a Barbie Dreamhouse as a child, embarked upon the project as a way to re-parent herself – and also because it would be really fucking cool, okay, shut up. However, Hapworth reportedly came to regret her conduct during her initial burst of enthusiasm.
She explained: “When I told everyone in my life about Project Dreamhouse, I sincerely intended on finishing it. But, you know, life gets busy and, I’m sorry, have YOU tried sticking thousands of gemstones onto a dollhouse roof in a meticulous pattern that only you know how to replicate?”
“Now everyone I’ve ever met asks me about it every single time they see me,” Hapworth continued. “‘How’s the dollhouse coming along, Beth?’ I don’t know – how’s the divorce coming along, BECKY?”
“I’m still planning on finishing it,” Hapworth insisted. “When I have the energy.”
Hapworth then asked if we could end our interview so she could take a hard-earned nap.
When approached for follow-up comment, Hapworth had still not finished Project Dreamhouse, but was very excited to tell us all about the jumper she was knitting.
