A man who grew up living with autism still hasn’t moved out, it has been reported.
Dexter Livingstone, 22, left his parents’ home at the age of 18, but to their dismay took his autism with him.
Livingstone’s mother, Karen Livingstone, 54, said: “We were told Dexter wouldn’t be able to live independently, so we were overjoyed when he told us he was off to university. But that delight quickly turned to concern when he mentioned his autism was tagging along.”
“We’d heard about adults who lived with autism,” she continued. “But we thought they were making it up for Internet likes. We’ve spent the last decade telling them they’re nothing like Dexter and then he goes and pulls this.”
“We’ve tried to convince Dexter to part from his autism, now he’s too old for it – but he keeps insisting they can’t be separated.”
Dexter Livingstone couldn’t be reached for comment as he was having a great time playing Call of Duty with his autism.
