An autistic woman has somehow managed to form a parasocial relationship with her favourite clothes shop, it has been noted.

Ellie Mulligan, 39, who spends every penny of her meagre disposable income at online boutique Little Lies, has reportedly anthropomorphised the shop to the point where she comments on its Instagram posts more than she does on her actual human friends’.

Mulligan explained: “I’ve been good mates with Little Lies for about three years now, since we first met. By which I mean, since I ordered the first of many very slightly different Devore kimonos.”

“It’s the healthiest friendship I’ve ever had. It’s so reciprocal,” Mulligan continued. “I send them money and they send me ‘70s-style boho-chic dresses named after my favourite fashion icons of the era. We just both give each other what the other needs.”

“It was particularly exciting when Taylor Swift also made friends with Little Lies by buying one of their dresses and now I get to say I’m one degree of separation from Tay-Tay,” she added. “Because I bought the dress. Obviously.”

Mulligan could not be reached for further comment as she was refreshing the Little Lies homepage waiting for new items to drop, insisting she was “just being a supportive pal”.
