An autistic woman would love to be less aware of her eating disorder during Eating Disorder Awareness Week, it has been reported.

According to sources, Natasha Weaving, 33, from County Durham, would quite like to exchange the constant calorie-counting monologue in her brain for a little bit of peace and quiet.

“I’m always tuned into some food nonsense chattering in my brain like an unsolicited podcast – to the point where it takes my entire lunch break to choose a Tesco meal deal,” Weaving explained. “Then I spent most of my shift trying to avoid an open packet of Jammie Dodgers. At this rate, I don’t know how much more aware I could possibly get.”

“That, and I’ve watched pretty much every documentary on anorexia there is – to the point where I’ve memorised the floor plan of Rhodes Farm’s dining room,” Weaving admitted. “I used to fantasise about getting hospitalised the way kids dream about getting a Hogwarts letter.”

“Meanwhile, I’ve just seen @BeckyArmitageRecovering’s just uploaded her annual emaciated selfie to Instagram – which I’m sure has everything to do with fighting mental illness stigma and nothing to do with wanting to be a lead character in Girl Interrupted.”

Becky Armitage, 25, commented: “Most crucially, people need to be aware of just how thin I got.”
