The Daily Tism statement on generative AI
The Daily Tism is comprised of real, human writers and artists who share serious concerns about the impacts of generative AI use on our environment, our livelihoods and our industry.
Our pieces are written by a small team of neurodivergent comedy writers. Everyone who writes for the Daily Tism is subject to a strict anti-AI policy; it is hard work and craft, not plagiarising our fellow artists, that allows us to pitch and write a high volume of pieces per week. From idea generation to drafting to editing and formatting, we never use AI at any stage of creation and never will.
Unless otherwise stated, all of our images are sourced from Shutterstock. As with many other stock photo repositories, the platform does host AI-generated images, and we make every effort to ensure these are not featured on our site by filtering results and checking for signed model releases on file. However, we are a (very!) small team working at high volume – if you think we’ve made a mistake, we are happy to check individual images, but rest assured that any instance of AI imagery on our site is accidental, and will be immediately removed and replaced if found.
The Daily Tism remains committed to supporting real creatives and paying them a fair wage. To help us cover the expenses of our wonderfully, humanly messy team, you can subscribe to our Patreon for bonus personal attacks delivered straight to your inbox.
